Richmond American Homes has more than 40 years of homebuilding experience. Having built their first single-family home in 1977 in Denver, CO. Richmond American Homes subsidiaries have built more than 205,000 homes nationwide since then. In the process, has creating thousands of happy homeowners and uncountable happy memories.
Since 1977 Richmond American Homes and its parent company, the Mizel Development Corporation, have developed a history of success and achievement.
In 1987 M.D.C. Holdings were ranked in the Top 10 of the “Top 400 Housing Giants” by Professional Builder magazine.
In 2005 MDC was named the Top Company by the Colorado Biz Magazine, an award recognizing businesses that show both operational excellence and a commitment to their community. MDC was also named a Fortune 500 Company and recognized as one of the nation’s “Most Admired Builders” that same year.
In 2006 Forbes Magazine featured MDC on its Platinum 400 list. M.D.C. has been one of “America’s Best Big Companies” for eight years in a row.
In 2014 marked M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., Richmond American’s parent company, 30th year on the New York Stock Exchange.
In 2016 the Chairman and C.E.O. of MDC Larry A. Mizel were inducted into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame, and Richmond American had built more than 190,000 homes nationwide.
Last but not least, in 2017, Richmond American Homes was ranked among the top five of America’s Most Trusted builders, according to surveys held during the National Home Builder Study and conducted by Lifestory Research.
